On the morning of October 30, 2023, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) renewal event took place in Bangkok, Thailand, involving INSPiRE Library at Ton Duc Thang University and the Central Library of Chulalongkorn University. In attendance were Assoc. Prof.Dr. Amorn Petsom, the Director of Chulalongkorn University's Central Library, along with his library staff, and from TDTU's side, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Bui Loan Thuy, who represented INSPiRE Library.
During the ceremony, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Amorn Petsom reflected on the significant milestones achieved through the collaborative efforts of both libraries and expressed his delight in the ongoing pursuit of shared objectives in advancing university libraries towards greater intelligence and sustainability. Additionally, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Bui Loan Thuy conveyed her aspirations for a comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership that enhances the quality of learning, teaching, and research support services at both institutions.
As per the terms outlined in the MOU, the two parties will maintain tthe collaboration in several key areas, which include facilitating personnel exchanges; organizing scientific conferences and seminars within the realm of library and information studies; and sharing academic materials and information to support learning, teaching, and research.
Chulalongkorn University Central Library assumes the responsibility of offering services and academic and research resources to over 41,000 users within Chulalongkorn University. It stands as one of the foremost university libraries in the nation. Chulalongkorn University, established in 1917, holds the distinction of being Thailand's oldest university. In the 2023 QS World University Rankings, Chulalongkorn University secured the 211th position among top-tier universities worldwide. Furthermore, in THE Impact Rankings 2023, the organization ranked Chulalongkorn University 17th globally for its influence on sustainable development on a global scale.
