TDTU INSPiRE Library Opening Ceremony

On the morning of July 15^th, Ton Duc Thang University INSPiRE Library has been officially opened in the new building. Attended the ceremony were honor guests: Mr. Ilkka-Pekka Similä, Finland's ambassador in Vietnam, Mr. Tran Thanh Duc, deputy chairman of Tien Giang People's Committee, Mr. Le Hoang Phung, the secretary of Bao Loc City Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, chairman of Bao Loc City People's Committee. Other representatives from Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, representatives from other provinces, libraries, high schools, publishing houses, book stores, companies and affiliates presented to celebrate the opening. It was also an honor to have the presence of Mrs. Hoang Thi Khanh, Ton Duc Thang University Founding Board member, Professor Le Vinh Danh, president of Ton Duc Thang University, and other members of Ton Duc Thang University Founding Board, University Board, Presidential Board, lecturers and students.

Learning Commons is the model the library was built on. The building has 7 stories and a basement for studying overnight. Each floor has its main decor color and name. The Library name is the combination of first letters of 7 floor names:

INSPiRE Library is, especially, designed by TDTU lecturers and students. Their design concepts, styles are up-to-date and unique in Vietnam by then.

TDTU INSPiRE Library is the most modern library in the country. It meets world standards as using latest library management methods for operating management, exploiting management and development management, including ALEPH Software with its outstanding feature, course material management module and other application such as Primo Central Index, SFX and Metalib from ExLibris, which is already using in many top university libraries around the world like Harvard, Oxford.

Moreover, automatic machines with RFID Technology are equipped in INSPiRE Library such as Sorter and Return machine, book shower, self-check machine, access control, multi-functional printers and others.
