The first days of university life are always filled with a mix of excitement and new experiences for every freshman. Alongside getting familiar with the learning environment, lecture halls, lecturers, and new friends, discovering the spaces that will accompany them throughout their university journey is also an important part of starting this new chapter. From August 17 to 19, 2026, the Welcome Freshmen 2026 Program at the Library gave new students an opportunity to discover the Library through a series of interactive activities held on the Ground Floor.

Rather than simply taking a tour and listening to an introduction, freshmen were invited to take part in an exploration journey designed around a series of activity stations. At each station, students completed activities and challenges before receiving a stamp and moving on to the next station. Each station featured a different theme, introducing freshmen to the Library's spaces, facilities, services, and activities available to support their university experience at TDTU. Instead of receiving information passively, students had the opportunity to observe, interact, and complete hands-on tasks, allowing them to gradually become familiar with the Library and learn how to make use of its spaces and resources.

For freshmen, the experience was not only an introduction to an important learning space at TDTU but also an opportunity to become more familiar with the resources and services available to support their studies. Throughout their university journey, the Library will provide students with access to a wide range of resources and spaces for finding materials, reading, self-study, group work, and academic and research activities. Becoming acquainted with these resources and facilities from the very beginning can help students feel more confident and proactive in making use of the Library as their academic needs develop over time.

Beyond academic knowledge and skills, students' first experiences at university also play an important role in shaping their sense of belonging to the campus community. Walking into the Library for the first time, exploring its different areas, completing a challenge, or receiving a small gift may seem like simple moments, but these experiences can help turn an unfamiliar space into a more welcoming and familiar one. In this spirit, Welcome Freshmen 2026 was not only a warm welcome for the new members of K30, but also the beginning of a new journey in which they can gradually discover and make the most of the TDTU INSPiRE Library throughout their years at TDTU.
