On January 26, 2026, TDTU Ton Duc Thang University welcomed a delegation from the Eastern International University Library and the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine Library for a visit, working session, and exchange of experience in the management, operation, and development of academic library services. The delegation from Eastern International University Library was led by Ms. Hoang Thi Thuc, Library Director, together with library staff members. Representatives from the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine Library also participated with their library staff. On the TDTU side, the delegations were received by Mr. Trinh Phi Cuong, Acting Director of the TDTU Library, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong, Deputy Director, along with TDTU Library staff.
The program was organized to enhance professional exchange, share practical experience, and strengthen connections among academic libraries in the context of higher education undergoing strong transformation toward modernization, digital transformation, and a learner-centered approach. Through site visits, exchanges, and in-depth discussions, the participating libraries had opportunities to explore organizational models, management solutions, and development orientations suitable for training, research, and academic support in the new phase.
During the working session, the delegations learned about the organizational model, learning spaces, information and academic support services, as well as management and operational solutions at the TDTU Library. At the same time, representatives of the visiting libraries shared their experience in developing libraries in a modern direction. With convenient facilities, diverse user-oriented amenities, and an automated and intelligent library management model meeting international standards, the Eastern International University Library officially began operation in 2011 and was redesigned and upgraded in 2018 to continuously improve service quality and user experience. In addition, staff from the Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine Library shared information on the preparation, planning, and implementation of library operations at Tan Nhut Campus, the university’s new campus. This is an important stage that lays the foundation for the development of a modern library, meeting the demands of specialized training and research in the medical field while aligning with the university’s long-term development orientation.
Previously, the TDTU Library and the two partner libraries had conducted several mutual visits and exchanges, creating a solid foundation for continuous and effective cooperation and experience sharing. With a spirit of openness, collaboration, and sustainable development, the program provided diverse perspectives, practical experience, and innovative proposals, contributing to the improvement of library management, operation, and development at each institution. Accordingly, the participating libraries share a common goal of continuously enhancing library service quality to better meet the learning, research, and academic development needs of learners and researchers at each university, while further strengthening cooperation and collegial relationships among academic libraries.
