On the morning of December 19, 2024, an online professional exchange program was successfully held between the Taylor’s University Library (Malaysia) and TDTU INSPiRE Library, focusing on the topic: FaceID Technology Implementation at Taylor’s University Library. The event aimed to share experiences in implementing FaceID technology, a modern solution pioneered by Taylor’s University Library in Malaysia to enhance library operations.

The session featured representatives from Taylor’s Library, including Ms. Leenawati Razali – Head Librarian, Ms. Wilmina Lee – Assistant Manager, Mr. Ting Chang Nguan – Assistant Manager, and Ms. Fauziatul Alma – Assistant Manager. From INSPiRE Library, attendees included Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong – Assistant Director, along with other library specialists.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Duong expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Taylor’s University Library team for their enthusiastic support and highlighted the significant achievements in technology adoption at Taylor’s University Library. She emphasized that learning about the implementation of FaceID technology would provide valuable insights for developing INSPiRE Library, helping improve service quality and better meet the needs of its user community.

During the session, representatives from Taylor’s University Library shared comprehensive insights into critical aspects of FaceID technology, from the motivations behind its implementation to enhance user experience, to its practical application, integration into library management systems, and connection with other systems across the campus. They also discussed challenges encountered during implementation and the effective solutions applied. Positive feedback from students and faculty at Taylor’s University Library further highlighted the project’s success.

The exchange concluded successfully, offering an invaluable opportunity for both libraries to connect, learn, and strengthen their partnership for future collaboration. Taylor’s University is one of TDTU’s longstanding partners and currently ranks 251st in the QS World University Rankings 2025, placing it among the top 1% of universities worldwide.
