In response to the 2026 Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day with the theme “Books - Knowledge - Aspirations for National Development in the Digital Era,” TDTU INSPiRE Library organized the “30 April Moments” Contest for students across the university. The contest was held from 15 April to 17 May 2026 at the History and Politics Space (1st Floor, Library), in celebration of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (30 April 1975 – 30 April 2026).
Through creative check-in photos and short videos, the contest provided students with an opportunity to approach history in a proactive, modern, and digitally engaging way. The Library’s History and Politics Space became a place connecting books, historical materials, technology, and the creative perspectives of the younger generation. Contest entries focused on expressing patriotism, the value of peace, the historical significance of 30 April, and students’ reflections on the historical materials displayed at the Library.
One of the highlights of this year’s contest was the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) experiences within the exhibition space. Participants not only created photos and videos alongside historical materials but also explored extended content through AR scanning activities. The application of technology contributed to creating vivid and interactive contest entries, making history more accessible and engaging for learners through a more visual and immersive approach.
Following the launch period, the contest received many creative and emotional entries from students of different faculties. Through images, short videos, and accompanying captions, students spread patriotism, gratitude toward previous generations, and national pride in a youthful, positive, and relatable manner. Many submissions demonstrated careful investment in ideas, visuals, and messages while effectively utilizing the Library’s historical exhibition space.
After the evaluation and selection process, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to outstanding individuals and groups.
- The “Impressive Photo” award was presented to student Do Thi Kieu Chinh from the Faculty of Law.
- The “Inspirational Video” award went to student Nguyen Huynh Khich from the Faculty of Sport Sciences.
- The “Most Favorite Entry” award was presented to student Nguyen Thai Thuy Dung from the Faculty of Sport Sciences.
In addition, the Youth Union – Student Association of the Faculty of Sport Science and the Youth Union – Student Association of the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts were recognized as the two units with the highest number of contest submissions and received the collective awards of the program.
The “30 April Moments” Contest was not only an activity in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day but also a meaningful initiative contributing to the education of national historical traditions, the promotion of reading culture, and the encouragement of students’ sense of responsibility toward the country in the new era. By combining books, experiential spaces, and technology, the Library continues to affirm its role in building an inspiring and creative learning environment while strengthening students’ connection with the historical and cultural values of the nation.
