TPO - Named INSPiRE Library, this space is at the forefront of applying synchronized new technological solutions in management and operations.
On July 15th, Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to inaugurate the INSPiRE Library at its main campus (Tan Phong Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City). The library, with a total investment of 129 billion VND, covers a floor area of 8,678 square meters.
INSPiRE Library is structured around the Learning Commons model, incorporating a 24/7 self-study area across its 7 floors. Each floor is distinguished by its unique paint color from the seven basic hues. They are named following the letters of "INSPiRE – Truyền cảm hứng": Indurance, Nisus, Sagacity, Progress, Initiative, Responsibility, and Excellence.
Communication in INSPiRE Library is promoted with an emphasis on using English. The library's study and research environment is designed to accommodate more than 2,000 users simultaneously across its various functional areas.
The Learning Commons area includes 9 presentation practice rooms, 8 individual study rooms, 6 group study rooms, 2 video rooms, an online conference room, and a creative media zone.
The information services area includes information desks, a new book display area, computer areas, quick access, multifunctional printing stations, and self-check stations.
The study and social interaction space includes meeting points, a coffee area, a leisure reading zone, and an exhibition loungue.
Special services and products space include: TDTU Museum, Research Gate displays the school's scientific products, and library workspace.
According to Dr. Le Vinh Danh, President of Ton Duc Thang University, INSPiRE Library was designed by the university's faculty and students with a unique, innovative, and distinctive design concept, style, and perspective, which is unprecedented in Vietnam to date.
Accordingly, the library is built to international standards and is the most modern in Vietnam, pioneering the application of synchronized new technological solutions in management, operation, and development. It adheres to the standards implemented in libraries at leading universities worldwide such as Harvard, Oxford, and others.
Additionally, TDTU INSPiRE Library is equipped with automated RFID technology, including systems for book sorting after returns, Book Shower, automated borrowing and returning machines, security gates, access control systems, multifunctional printers, and various cutting-edge technological solutions.
