On September 19 and 27, 2024, TDTU INSPiRE Library successfully hosted an online training program on using Turnitin, a plagiarism detection software, for the TDTU community. The event attracted 556 participants, including instructors, administrators, researchers, staff, students, and postgraduate students. The goal of the training was to equip attendees with essential knowledge on how to utilize Turnitin to identify and control duplicated content in academic works.

Mr. Bui Tuan Linh, Turnitin Solutions Manager in Vietnam, led the sessions, providing comprehensive instructions on how to effectively use Turnitin to prevent academic misconduct. His guidance focused on minimizing the duplication of content in academic projects and ensuring transparency and integrity in both teaching and research.

Throughout the training, participants were introduced to key aspects of Turnitin, including how the software detects plagiarism, how to submit and manage assignments, and how to analyze the plagiarism reports generated. Additionally, the training offered strategies to help users not only detect plagiarism but also proactively avoid it during the process of creating academic work.

With these valuable features, Turnitin has been implemented by TDTU to support teaching, research, and the quality assurance of academic work. It also plays a key role in promoting academic integrity at TDTU, aligning with modern educational trends and the increasing demands for ethical standards in academic and research activities.

Detailed user guides for Turnitin, tailored to different user groups, are now available on the library's official website at the following link: https://lib.tdtu.edu.vn/en/services/similarity-check/turnitin
