April 24, 2023 - TDTU INSPiRE Library collaborated with Nanhua University Library (Taiwan) and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCMC to organize the Reading Day 2023 - Traveling through Books to celebrate the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) and World Book and Copyright Day (April 23).

This exclusive event was held at the same time at both TDTU Library and Nanhua University Library in order to introduce good books, new arrivals as well as encourage and develop the reading habits, creating an effective reading and learning environment at the two universities. At TDTU, the event took place with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Loan Thuy - Library manager, Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach, Director of International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute, and Dr. Ho-Hsien CHEN - Head of Education Department, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCMC. Focusing on reading culture in Taiwan, Dr. Ho-Hsien CHEN introduced to readers the current status of reading culture, challenges, and opportunities as well as appropriate measures to improve reading culture in the community, family and school. In Q&A session, Dr. CHEN also answered many questions from readers on reading culture from the perspective of an educational counselor as well as a true book lover. In the minigame, students who gave the most right answers received gifts from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCMC as well as TDTU INSPiRE Library.

Reading Day 2023 - Traveling through Books was the kick-off in the partnership between TDTU Library and Nanhua University Library. More academic and cultural events to promote reading culture at TDTU and Nanhua University will continue to be held in the near future.
