On December 17 and 18, 2024, INSPiRE Library, in collaboration with Clarivate Analytics, successfully organized an online workshop titled “Maximizing the Use of the Web of Science Database”. This series of significant events aimed to support lecturers, researchers, Ph.D. students, graduate students, and undergraduates in optimizing their use of the research resources provided by TDTU.

The session on December 17, 2024, tailored for lecturers and researchers, drew participants from various departments/units. Meanwhile, the session on December 18, 2024, specifically designed for Ph.D. students, graduate students and undergraduates, delivered valuable knowledge to help users effectively leverage Web of Science (WoS) in their studies and research.

Led by Ms. Dju-Lyn Chng, a solutions consultant from Clarivate Analytics, attendees received detailed guidance on the platform’s key features, including advanced search methods, managing research profiles, evaluating journal impact factors, and synchronizing research data with other tools such as ORCID. Ms. Chng also introduced several personalization tools and resources that support teaching and learning.

The workshop not only offered the latest updates but also provided participants with the opportunity to engage directly with the expert during the Q&A session. The questions raised reflected the attendees’ keen interest and desire to enhance their data utilization skills.

The “Maximizing the Use of the Web of Science Database” workshop series has delivered practical benefits, enabling TDTU researchers, faculty members, Ph.D. students, graduate students, and undergraduates to maximize their research potential. This, in turn, contributes to improving the academic and research quality of the university.
