In response to Official Document No. 1173/BVHTTDL-TV from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, TDTU INSPiRE Library has teamed up with other university departments to host the preliminary round of the 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest. This Contest is part of a nationwide initiative by the Government and society to foster a strong reading culture in Vietnam.
The preliminary round at TDTU has sparked a passion for reading among students, encouraging them to develop lifelong reading habits and essential academic skills. Through participation, students immerse themselves in the world of books while enhancing their critical thinking, creativity, and innovation. This effort aligns with TDTU’s mission to build a dynamic learning and research community, contributing to the cultural and intellectual growth of its members.
This year's contest features two main tasks: writing about an inspiring book and developing a plan to promote reading culture in specific communities. These tasks allow contestants to demonstrate their literary talents and cultivate creative strategies to encourage reading.
Over nearly two months, the Organizing Board received numerous impressive entries, each reflecting the unique perspectives and creativity of the students. The submissions ranged from insightful book reviews to innovative proposals for promoting reading culture. The judges meticulously evaluated the entries based on the contest’s criteria to select the best ones. The winners of the preliminary round of the 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest are:
- First Prize: Trần Huỳnh Ngọc Như (Faculty of Law)
- Second Prize: Nghiêm Văn Tiến (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities)
- Third Prize: Trần Nhật Linh (Faculty of Law)
- Fourth Prize: Vũ Thị Ngân (Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities)
- Consolation Prizes: Nguyễn Quỳnh Hương Giang (Faculty of Applied Sciences) and La Công Tài (Faculty of Environment and Labor Protection)
The winning students will receive awards from the contest and certificates from TDTU. Additionally, the top three entries will advance to the national finals to compete with outstanding submissions from across the country.
The 2024 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest is a nationwide event designed to highlight the importance of reading in the modern era. By uniting efforts to promote reading culture at local and national levels, the contest has helped build a cohesive movement towards lifelong reading and learning.
